Description

The twin chamber melting furnace process offers an efficient and economical way to melt aluminum scrap. Aluminum recycling with the twin chamber melting furnace (TCF) is applicable to end-of-life and production return scrap – both loose and packed – with or without adhering contamination.

The TCF consists of two chambers installed in one furnace casing, heating chamber and scrap chamber. In the heating chamber, the liquid metal is heated via the bath surface. Scrap is charged with a charging machine onto the dry hearth ramp of scrap chamber for preheating and gasification of organics. Thereafter the scrap heap is pushed into the melt bath by the charging machine or an integrated scrap pusher.

An liquid metal pump circulates the melt between the furnace chambers, thereby providing necessary energy to melt the scrap, meanwhile generating a vortex in side well, chips are charged directly to the side well, and rapidly drawn under the furnace of the molten metal to reduce lose.

Detailed furnace design is flexible to meet individual specifications and capacities.
